Action / Voice
[A: Action has a ridiculously cheerful Marco wandering Luceti, actually walking, not flying. This is because he's walking his Pops' dog. A big white dog with a mustache on its face. The same crescent moon mustache that can be seen on Marco's tattoo. Well they say pets take after their owners...]
[Though I'm pretty sure that's not how it's meant.]
Fetch, Stefan!
[The dog barks and goes bounding after the white frisbee, only to stop as it hits the ground. What you expected him to catch it? Or actually fetch it? No. He gives Marco a quizzical stare instead, like what the hell is he supposed to do with it? Marco deadpans him right back.]
What, you were expecting this? [He holds up a white boomerang instead. And Stefan barks. With a small sigh Marco tosses it, fetches the fallen frisbee himself, and the dog goes racing after the boomerang. Including when it comes back to Marco, who just holds up a hand and catches it.] I don't know if you're just that lazy or he gave you bad habits, eh? [But Marco gives the dog a treat and an affectionate face rub anyway. Seems his Pops wasn't the only one giving him bad habits. In any case, feel free to spot him anywhere outside and stop and say hello or join him, both Marco and Stefan are quite friendly.]
[B. Voice: After fetching food for dinner (fish and mostly vegetarian things, sorry Robin, he's been cooking with Leanne in mind) and stopping to actually return books to the library instead of just stealing them indefinitely like the pirate he is, Marco lazily grabs a spot in the garden near the Straw Hat house.]
Hello Luceti.
I'm Captain Marco, of the Whitebeards, though there's really only me left of us here. I suppose that goes for a lot of the pirates left here, eh? In any case, if you're a lost new feather, give me a call, and I can come flying out there. And for everyone, I pose to you a question.
All worlds seem to have their own ways of preserving history, and some of burying it. In my own world, I think we go for the latter more often than not. Perhaps ironically, one of the strangest things about being a pirate is that we also uncover and preserve a lot of history. Accidentally, or because of treasure and legends. What one pirate might find to be treasure, the rest of the world might see as useless junk. My father was big on preserving history through stories. When you pass on legends, you keep them real in a way nothing solid can. So my question quite simply, is what do you or your worlds do to preserve history and stories? And what do you do if it's destroyed, eh?
Thanks.

You're in a good mood. Something happen?
[Action]
Two bad things, and one really good. [She squeaks, totally giddy with excitement.]
I left Clint. Like we talked about. And...I stopped talking to Adele, because she refused to talk to me for four months.
But...[She hops up once.]
This cycle? Yuuna appeared in my bed! And it's really her, not a dream. I thought it might be but no...she's really here...really really!
[Words just kind of tumble out...]
[Action]
Really? That's great! I mean, maybe not great, but ahhh no, but it is! [Another laugh.] You know, that's how Robin was returned last round over a year ago? I guess the Malnosso are fans of pairings around here. Well, given Valentine's Day, that's no surprise.
I'm glad for you Saori!
[Action]
[She gulps in air, hugs Marco all of a sudden and continues. Excited doesn't even begin to describe it. She's finally not alone. She doesn't need other people to help her get by, she has the person she counts on more than anything.]
I don't know how, or why, but...there she was. Just sleeping, right there, like at home. I don't really care who brought her here, if its the world or the Malnosso or whatever. I just...Earth and Stars, I get to have my partner back. I feel whole...and loved and...like I'm falling in love all over again.
[Action]
[Partner, whole, and loved. He wonders idly if it's the world that does this more than the Malnosso. Maybe it's not the Malnosso who choose Valentine's Day at all. And given the spirits of Luceti, isn't it likely that the world has a deep connection with the spirits such as Saori, and wants them to be happy?]
Aye, I'm glad. [Her enthusiasm is catching, and as a phoenix, Marco is downright giddy from all the love wafting from her. Like he could float on air -- which he can. Actually.] Talk about timing, eh? Do you have plans with her now or are you just going to enjoy the moment?
[Action]
And Saori herself can almost float away. Keiko's leash is the only think keeping her from doing so.]
Well...we...spent the last few days catching up. [Among other things] She's been here for four days. And it's just good, having her here. Even if I am worried about her, there's no point in dwelling on that. What comes will come and we'll face it together.
As for plans? What plans would we have? This is Luceti. I plan to just enjoy every minute I can with her, for certain. You'll have to come meet her, soon! She'll like you...and she'll adore Stefan. And...well...Earth and Stars, I don't even know if I should say this...but I sort of want to ask her to marry me. Or...something like that.
[She looks a little abashed, like she didn't mean to say it buuuuut she's so happy...]
[Action]
And hell, I'll perform the ceremony if you want. [Although he doesn't have a ship, but it's not exactly like Luceti has specific country jurisdiction where island laws must be obeyed.]
And I'm glad. Again.
I was about to ask why you were out and not back home with her! [Another laugh, but seriously, he's super duper ridiculously happy for her.]
[Action]
[And she nods gratefully.] I would like that. I really would. I don't know a priest here, so a ships captain would be ideal.
And I decided to let her rest and have some free time? I've been away a year, but she's coming from home, and she was asleep in my arms when she left. So I thought she'd want some time to herself. And Keiko needed a walk.
[Woof!]
[Action]
Aye, sounds reasonable. I can't wait to meet her! Have you told many others in the village about her?
[Action]
I haven't really, no. I've barely left the house. But my housemates have met her, and...I've told Belle. But that's really about it.
[Action]
[And another small laugh.]
That might be easier on her than not then, eh? But may I have permission to surprise her as a phoenix? You can tell her whatever you wish of course, and I'd prefer she didn't mistake me for a demon, but I'll admit I'm excited. [Since she must know about demons/spirits through Saori.]
[Action]
Oh, I think so. She's a pretty open person, I don't think she'll have trouble making friends. I just wanted to gush a little bit about it, since we talked about her recently.
And that? You could do that, yes! She knows whata phoenix is, and she's really familiar with demons and spirits and the differences. She's fought them with me, you know.
[Action]
[Marco nods to Saori.]
I thought so. Sounds like she'll do all right here, eh?
[Action]
My only worry is drafts, really. She's...not a god. And she's not the greatest fighter, and I can't protect her like I can at home. But I suppose that's a bridge I'll cross when it comes.
[Action]
I'd offer to help, but they've yet to draft me. [Rubs the back of his neck.] Do they usually have the common sense to create a basic base of operations when possible and have healers or non-combatants there?
[Action]
[And she means it. Her mood is dampened a bit.]
But yes, the last two had hospitals. The first time they were overrun. The second it was a near thing.
[Action]
Then it sounds like they could use all the help they could get there, even if it's just a pair of hands. And she should talk to Doctor Law about learning what she can, eh?
[Action]
[Saori's voice swells with pride at that. Yes, she had a smart, beautiful companion with a valuable skill.]
But that doesn't mean I want her in danger. Especially not because of the Malnosso.
[Action]
[And another nod.] Fair enough. I'd worry more about the Shifts, but as you said, we'll deal with that as it happens, eh.
[Action]
[She beams again, looking at those two goofy dogs]
Would you like to come meet her? I have some treats I can get Stefan too.
[Action]
Should I switch to phoenix and surprise her with my human form, do you think?
[Action]
[She snaps her fingers to get the attention of the dogs.]
Keiko, we're going to take Marco and Stefan to see Yuuna, so come along, alright?
[The old maid frisks her head from side to side and yaps, but trots over]
[Action]
[Marco meanwhile has to practically drag Stefan along to get his attention.]
[Action]
[Keiko's tongue lolls happily as she follows along, not even needing the leash. Home is where food is, after all.]
