[Marco's a lot more tired than he would ever normally be, but his blue flames are still working and absorbing and healing the damage before it can mount. He might spend the next week in pure phoenix form though. His concern for Japan comes first however.]

[He keeps staring ahead though, if at the ground a little.]

But I am not sure if I will ever be. ...Ah... You are alright?

[Wraps giant wings around Japan as protectively as he can.]

There's no haki with this. Akainu's magma gave me more troubles. Come on, let's go.

[But he moves along, staying close to Marco. It's not until they're actually in the middle of it all that he pulls away, crouching to his knees and placing a hand on the ground.]

Do you suppose there were people living here? Like in that city to the East?

Chi, mantra, ki, it's called lots of different things. A high level master like Gol D. Roger can knock an entire battlefield unconscious with the sheer force of their will. For people like me and the admirals, it's the only way to fight someone like Ace who can be made of fire. It's how Garp was able to knock me out of the sky.

[Worried frown as Japan falls and debates whether to carry him.]

There wouldn't be any point bombing it if there weren't people here.

[That sort of thing... Of course. He made note to ask more about it later. For now, he stared at the debris with an empty face.

Aye. It's flattened, like a buster call. [Picks Japan up onto his shoulder and starts carrying him.]

Except that the air is poisoned. This isn't a takeover, this is just destruction.

Ah-- [He's surprised by being picked up, but his reaction is kind of sluggish. Eventually he just sighs.]

...Yes. I shouldn't... ah, we should leave.

Don't go through America. However you fight back, it won't save you. Not because I don't think you're built for war, but because... your wars should protect you from this. And the more you try, the worse he'll get. You don't have to run away, just don't go through him. Your path lies another direction. With me, eh?

[Carries out as a human with all blue flames leaving the leveled Accido behind them.]

[He brings a hand to his head.]

I do not know all of the details. I only know... my way of thinking.

I told you once before, just because the tension is there doesn't mean you have to act on it. [Sighs and he's a little dizzy but tries not to stumble, especially while carrying Japan.]

If you aren't protecting your people, you're on the wrong path. Digging yourself deeper isn't the way out.

I understand... [He frowns further.] However, I have returned home once before. ... I did not recall anything from this place.

[Not wanting that to linger, he tries to shift a bit]

Ah, I can walk... Please do not trouble yourself.

[Grunts and set him down. He wouldn't normally but he wants to be able to get Japan safely out of here flying.]

We aren't staying the night. [Leans a wing around.]

[He puts an arm around Marco's waist to help the both of them.]

I agree. I am not sure what sort of effect that would have. I am surprised at this to begin with... I am glad Seifer did not come.

[A pause]

[Squeezes the arm on Japan's shoulders and tries to make the wing bigger as if he could shield him in some way.]

Of course Bushido.

[Even with that, though, he dropped to his knees. A cautious crouch more than anything.]

F-forgive me, just a moment. [He was sure he had a fever, and he felt ill... but he was managing at least. He couldn't imagine what this sort of environment would do to others. HONESTLY he was surprised it bothered Marco at all, because he views Marco as a super cool phoenix who can take anything. Or something. Even though yeah stuff can bug.

ANYWAY YES JUST. TRYING NOT TO PUKE HERE DON'T MIND HIM my logs are fabulous I know]

[Grits his teeth and picks him up again.]

We're flying out of here. If you can't hold on, just don't wiggle. It's better on me as a phoenix anyway.

...Are you sure? [He glances one last time back at the city]

Positive. I might not talk much over the next week though. Easier to just absorb the effects with my flames, eh? Keep close to them. I can't fix the damage already done, but I can try to prevent anymore from happening.
