It does seem impossible. He's not sure that he can live another 2000 years let alone 20000, but... Selfishly, he wants a point in time he can at least hold out until. Even though promises hurt, he's okay with it. This time.]

Aye. [Takes one of Japan's hands and holds onto it. Somehow Marco always thought he'd be the only one to survive such things, to outlive everyone. To have someone promise to outlive it with him and for that long...] No regrets even in just the endeavor, eh?

[Marco's actually pretty speechless for once. No deadpan jokes, no teasing. He just wants to feel this moment and hope it lasts. There's a light squeeze to that hand and Marco refuses to let go. 20,000 years huh. Maybe. It was a thrilling possibility either way.]

[Thrilling indeed... Japan is so caught up in the idea. Anyway he's fine with the silence. It's comfortable, and... maybe they could just enjoy each other in the middle of all this chaos. That was nice enough.]
