Hey, couldn't get to the comm right away, probably out kicking things. Since that doesn't last long, leave me a message and I'll get back to you as fast as I can, eh?
[Text]
Have a haiku.
There was a bluebird
Who was too busy for you
Leave me a message

Garp is known as the "Hero" of the marines for all the pirates he put away. He even chased Gol D. Roger all over the Grand Line to capture him. And when I was trying to rescue Ace from the Battle of Marineford, he punched me clear out of the sky to stop me.
Mind you Japan, the supposed top three marines in the world, all with logia devil fruit like Ace's which means you have to use haki just to land a hit on them, all capable of individually destroying an island -- I fought each of them during the battle and didn't get a single scratch.
America reminds me of Garp, but that's not necessarily a good thing. The only reason I can't hate Garp is for protecting Ace the best he could when he was a kid, and because when Ace died, Garp tried to kill Akainu so Sengoku had to stop him. To me? That's a god damned hero. I'm not a fan of the term. Heros are people who run around like lunatics and then just get applauded for not dying from it.

Still, what does it mean to you then?
July 17th; Video
My definition would be... Someone who is willing to sacrifice anything in order to do the right thing. Ah... Something like that. ...It often bothers me that America-san calls himself one and yet acts so selfishly. A hero should be selfless, I believe...
... It is still a little surprising to be called "Hero" by Seifer. [Not bad though. No, it's... nice.]

A selfless hero who tries to do the right thing... che I suppose that could still fit Garp.
When America calls himself that though it makes him sound a little like a mental patient.
Oh? But you like the nickname, eh? [Resists the uber childish urge to ask which nickname he likes better: Hero or Bushido.]
Selfless acts for what is right are hard to define though. All of you countries try to put aside your personal feelings for the sake of your people, don't you?
July 17th; Video
[But you know he wouldn't be able to pick! Gosh...]
...I, ah... When he says it, it is nice. [WOW WAY TO SOUND GAY]
Mm... I would not say so. Most believe their personal feelings are for the best for their people. Countries are quite selfish. I am not excluded from this.
July 17th; Video
Oh? What selfishness would you say you've been indulging in then?
[Now it's Marco's turn to roll around to get comfortable and finally he switches to wings for arms.]

Having friends and loyal nakama is the biggest strength anyone can have Japan. It is why I thought Ace could become the next pirate king, why Pops was acknowledged as the strongest man in the world, why I think Luffy is poised now to take the crown, and why Teach can never possibly succeed.
Gol D. Roger, Ace, Pops, they didn't have much in common, eh. But they were always their strongest with their crew or someone they loved behind them that they knew they had to protect at all costs.
I'll protect your people just as I'd protect you. It's who you are, just as my crew is mine.
July 17th; Video
...Ah, what a nice thing to hear... I am flattered. [a faint chuckle] But I am still selfish.
[If Sakura were to become friends with the same people... he wouldn't like that one bit]
July 17th; Video
More than just having friends?
July 17th; Video
July 17th; Video
[Because in the end, Marco is probably more selfish.]
July 17th; Video
[Gosh Marco you're kind of cute... okay wait here.]
...I did not like seeing so many speaking with Sakura-san. Perhaps it can be said... that I simply do not like Sakura-san.
July 17th; Video
Hah. I see. I think I can understand. Especially for a nation such as Japan who was the only one, eh? Like being a phoenix. On the one hand, it'd be nice to have another, but in practice, it's a rivalry.
But Bushido, no one can replace you. Not even the future, eh. And anyone who sees Sakura like that will be in for a disappointment themselves. She is her own person and nation as much as you are.
But you have nakama. And she has the sad misfortune of still thinking such a thing is impossible or too dangerous for her.
[Sneaky grin.] That means you're winning.
July 17th; Video
...So Marco-san will not forget we are different. [A bit of relief slid in there. He's sort of wondering about the last part though. ...Nakama. Nice, yes, but... As someone who was always certain it was impossible...
He was also someone who had always thought it was impractical. Sad. ...Weak. In this case, at least...]
July 17th; Video
You're not night and day, but you are certainly different. You can never be replaced. I don't forget nakama, no matter what. As I said, I prefer my bushido and the person you already are. Sakura still has a long way to go I think.
Something else you're thinking?
July 17th; Video
Yes, but it is not so much a bother for now. Rather than this sort of topic... What has Marco-san been up to lately?
July 17th; Video
Ah me? Nothing special. Scoping out more of the area and gathering enough supplies for people that I can fly out without feeling like I left a bunch of baby chicks to fend for themselves.

Oh, you are so lucky I'm not there in person.
[Otherwise there'd be an angry phoenix all over him.]
