[video] -- 2 things: Trick or Treating and 8 more commander drawings

First order of business, the trolls don't have Halloween in their world. Thus I'm inviting any of you who would find it fun to come trick or treating. That said, I suggest everyone try to find treats for them unless you want to experience the full weight of troll tricks. Eridan, Karkat, Tavros, Sabo, Vriska, Gamzee, and anyone else under 18 who wants to go trick or treating; you need a costume. If you want ideas, ask me or ask around for suggestions.

Well, it sort of makes sense. Pirates and all that, if they're anything like the stereotypical view of pirates from my world.

So, do you guys get a lot of attention from women?

Heh. I think it's more a maneuverability thing, that and we like to show off our tattoos. Or they younger ones copy me, who knows.

Aye, usually a decent amount anyway. We had quite the reputation in my world after all.

... I can imagine it a little. Although I wouldn't particularly go for it, I know why a lot of women would, I guess.

Well, I am first division commander. Although to be fair, I copied Pops a bit too.

I'm not sure if that's flattering or not. You wouldn't even go for Ace? [Because even Marco knows; just about EVERYONE swings for Ace.]

The kind of person who everyone looks up to, then. I see, now I understand what sort of person I'm dealing with.

[ not that it really means anything - it's probably just her deadpan form of humor. ]

And.. no. Not my type. [ Nobody is ever Ange's type. Too tsundere and all that. ]

[Not that Marco minds.] Eh, I couldn't speak for them like that. Ace just teases me back anyway, and the others never listen enough even when it's for their own safety. [Although he is acting captain with Whitebeard gone though, so he's aware of his position.]

Seriously? Oh, I get it. Do you prefer women? [Just... hit him. Seriously.]

Sounds like a pretty tough job. Although people in general have a tendency to not listen even wen it's for their own good.

[ and.. oh.. did he just suggest.. ]

... No. [ There might be the tiniest hint of embarassment in there, but it's hard to find it, really. ] I guess I just don't really care about it in general.

True enough. And my crew is full of stubborn brats. Just ask Ace.

Must be a relief to have a more or less quiet break in this place then, right? Even if 'stubborn brats' is a good description for the majority of the population here as well.

And I'm definitely not. Just because I don't fall for one or two guys don't mean I don't like guys in general. [ wait, no, now she's making it sound like she's actually actively looking-- ] ... I'm just not interested.

Eh... don't get me wrong. I'd rather have them talk back than be unable to hear me at all, you know?

The concern, or perhaps disbelief, I have about such a statement, is simply that it is exactly what Japan would try to say. So humor me a moment, eh? Is that you are really and truly disinterested, haven't met someone worth bothering for; or just that you think you're incapable of deserving such things?

But with too much talking back it would just get bothersome, right? You can't help them if they won't even listen every once in a while.

[ ... pause.. ] What, are you trying to play therapist now? But fine, I'll humor you.. It's not that I don't think I deserve it. It's just that I don't really see the use for something like that in my life, not when there are more important things to focus on.

True... [Distant look. Arguably though, his relationship with Ace was almost always like that. But then Ace did listen, and grow. All the time.] Some mistakes or failure to listen is inevitable though. Even for someone who usually does listen. And I'm sure I'm not great at listening to them either, eh?

[Grins.] Because I've spent the last few decades since my Pops found me trying to help others realize they don't have to be alone. If you don't mind my asking, what are you focused on? Not that that's a problem, it's a very good reason, eh.

Oh, I can agree that there's probably no one who listens all the time. And even if they did, they would be nothing more than a lapdog, so it's for the best that there's disagreement every now and then. It's just when they never listen that it gets bothersome, otherwise it can be dealt with, mostly.

Sounds like you're a true saviour. [ okay, a bit of deadpan again, but then she sobers up a little. ] ... Back home I have to find out the truth of an incident that happened twelve years ago. That's it.

Che. Hardly. Just trying to make up for my own past, eh.

The truth? Ah for why your world is the way it is?

Even so, just by the fact you're trying to make up for it means you're already a better person than the majority out there. Most of the time I wonder if some people are even capable of feeling guilty in the slightest to start with.

No, it's nothing that complicated. That incident is just an important part of my past, since.. that incident consisted of my entire family dying.

It's not guilt, it's empathy. Until my Pops came along and Thatch and my brothers showed me a better life I was nearly as closed off as Japan was. I don't think that was wrong, just the way it was. It took me awhile to learn that there was something better out there for me.

I see. [Glances down for a moment before back up with a birdie headtilt.] You plan to avenge them?

Empathy, huh.. I guess I sort of get it, when you put it that way.

[ That makes her think for a moment though, but.. in the end she shakes her head a little. ]

If there's a killer, they're most likely already dead by now. I don't want revenge, I just.. [ - want my family to come back to me - ] want to find out what exactly happened.

I see. Investigator then, not an avenger.

I guess you could almost call it a detective, if you want to go by all those mystery novels.

Is that what you call it?

It's what others back home might have called it. I personally don't really care either way. As long as I find the truth, who cares about the method or the way you call it, right?

Is the truth all you're hoping to find?

There isn't anything else really left to find. Reaching the truth is the only thing I can still accomplish in my life.

Eh... perhaps. But I'm sure your family would want you to live too, don't you think?
