All right, who let Marco have some art supplies? Well you're all about to be punished for it, because even if you're a recluse, he makes sure to post it on the journal too.]

[In a purely deadpan tone Marco switches to showing off a plate of cookies.] Join. We have cookies.

And can anyone tell me about their world's sports? Is Hit & Dead Ball or Dodgeball universal, what about Red and Green Light? If we had a games tournament here, what games would everyone like to see in it? And what kind of rewards?

Well, the best I can do with what I can. [Distant look.] I can't protect his islands. I know he'd just want us to be alive and live as happily and safely as we could, but that is something I wish I could do more about. And I will, but it will take time.

[Waves a wing and nearly knocks over his tea, having forgotten about his wingspan, but he catches it just in time.]

In any case, that's all anyone can do, right? The best for their circumstances, whatever they may be.

Whats happening there?

The New World -- that's the name of my home ocean -- it's always been a really rough place.

But my father created a lot of peace. Or at least kept it. Samba Island, Foodvalten, Fishman Island... all those places relied on Pops for protection. Without him, other pirates will try to take over.

[Shakes his head.] We don't even have our home ship anymore.

The war we lost Pops in was just the start and it's getting worse. [Closes phoenix eyes briefly and focuses on sipping his tea through the straw. Normally he'd switch to phoenix to cut some of the tension, but one of the downsides to sticking around like this. Of course it doesn't scratch the surface of Marco's deepest concerns. Blackbeard knew the ins and outs of the islands at least as well as Marco, and Marco never pretended not to like Teach did. And if it came to giving an island to Blackbeard or letting him destroy it, Marco would let him have it. In a truly messed up way, letting Blackbeard have some of the islands would be better for them than some of the other pirates who'd go after them. And that certainly rankled him.]

Back home just staying alive is going to be hard. [To take Shanks up on the offer, to split the divisions into pieces, to hide the ones he could, or try to keep everyone together and go into guerrilla warfare and bide their time getting stronger until they could stop Blackbeard and the others... whatever choice Marco does, he knows it'll be very rough.]

It's the end of Whitebeard's Era and the start of a new one. A dark one right now.

Nothing is dark for too long, isn't that the nice thing about darkness and light?

[A small shiver though.] It's actually a little ironic, eh? Our traitor has the power of darkness. Literally, even.

But Pops told him he would make it to his goal, so I'm sure of that much.

[Sort of sinks down behind the table a little with his eyes and yellow tufty hair peering up.]

[He carefully reaches over to run a hand along the other's head. It is obvious he is used to petting birds.]

I am sorry you had to deal with all that and now it is on your world. I know words do nothing, but- I will pray for you and it. And maybe, one day, the Traitor will realize the path he is going down is hurting everyone- including himself even if he doesn't know it.

[Rests his beak back up on the table.]

He won't. And I don't want him to. I want to kill him instead.

[Siiiideglance to his friend. Since he doubt Luce approves.]

...I really can't say anything about the laws of your land.

The Laws let him trade one of his former brothers for a position so that he could break free a bunch of prisoners we put in there and then use them to kill Pops.

The government's trying to kill him as much as we are... except they're lazy and probably just hoping I'll find a way to beat them to it.

Then I hope he is born into his proper place in his next life.

[Grumbles that it's still too good for him.]

I hope he spends eternity as nothing, but the fucking darkness he's one with. Turns his back on nakama, on the men he called father and brother, he's got nothing left.

[But he waves a wing.]
