Comment here with a bracket: < and I'll TL;DR about Marco's current view of them. And maybe a theme song. No promises.

Marco's Thatch feels are obviously the Most complicated.
So much so that you get two songs. Clocks & Twilight and probably a billion others.
He cannot even BEGIN to put into words his feelings at seeing Thatch again. SURE HE HOPED IT, but it's sad?? OR IS IT? and it's GOOD, and relief, sweet sweet relief, and he just wants to lean on Thatch and have time NEVER EVER move forward and he wants to cling and hide in his brother and let Thatch save him and he can't. AND HE WANTS TO SAVE THATCH and protect him and drag him away and take him home and fix it all and he can't do that either.
/lays on side with traumatized Marco
But okay, that aside, Thatch is his... Thatch is....
What makes Marco capable of being Marco. He's the darkness to Marco's starlight. Together they can be twilight.
It's very VERY VERY difficult not to just throw his arms around Thatch, hold him and refuse to flat out ever let go.
Thatch was the buffer between Marco and humanity. Without Thatch, humanity is so raw and unnerving. It's scary and brutal and he hates them ALL. It's funny, because Thatch's darkness (not liking people either, also brutal at times) is what lets Marco reach him and through that shine through to see the good things about people too. Yes, they can be brutal, but so can Marco. It's not the brutality that is bad, it just has to be used right. And it's okay to be brutal and still loving and affectionate and all the things that is the epitome of Whitebeard Pirates. Humanity is just another facet of people, and it's the pieces that get put together that make it okay.
Thatch is the one who teaches Marco EVERYTHING Marco considers worth knowing that Whitebeard couldn't/didn't. How to let go and be free and drink and be happy. How to have nights that are just fucked up beyond all reason. How to pick someone up, how to be a brother, that Marco was already doing a lot of the important things, and that Marco has what he needs.
Thatch is what lets Marco be Marco.
He's not his rock, but he's like the ethereal of eternal darkness. Marco gets to be all the starlight in between it, because Thatch is always there. Always.
If everything else was gone, literally everything, Whitebeard, the world, all of reality and the fabric of time and space, Marco would still expect to find himself in Thatch's embrace somehow.
Black holes and revelations.
Marco's own theme but only possible because of Thatch.
One day he wants to tell Thatch all the things, but he doesn't know how. Would never know how. And he just wants to hold Thatch and spin around with him through everything.
