[Not that Marco's had a lot of free time on his hands. And part of him still wonders how the fuck he wound up as first mate to Ace. Not that he minds, he'd follow Ace to the ends of the world and back, and Ace is a good captain, but still, Marco is not used to this. ANYWAY. All that means that sometime while out on Spero's rooftops (making sure they don't collapse) he started doodling. Because Doc isn't there to do it and he left the wall back on the school in Discedo... doh. Anyways, he's half mumbling to himself, half to his communicator.]
16 divisions of one hundred men each, 16 commanders to rule them. Over the years we went through several different commanders for the divisions. Sometimes they'd get old and retire, sometimes natural deaths took its toll. Either way, even though there were different commanders to the position, these are the ones who only seem to really stick in my mind.
Ace is 2, but you probably all know who that is.
Jozu is 3. He's very big and tough, but mostly he's a diamond.
Thatch was 4. He had giant hair. And smiled all the freaking time. And he was a swordsman and always looked like a sailor and had a scar over his eye. But mostly, he had giant hair.

Vista has 5. He wears a top hat, and has a ridiculous mustache and thinks he's super posh. He also uses two swords.

6th is Blamenco. He's big and wears overalls (which I didn't draw) and then he pulls out giant hammers from those pockets on his chin that are even bigger than he is. [Sorry, were you expecting NOT crack from this?] Tada!

7th is Rakuyo. Bro has crazy tons of dreadlocks. And he likes his pointy mustache, not to be confused with Vista's, which is curly. Also Rakuyo swings around a spike ball on a chain. And makes it bite things. It has teeth.

Namur is 8 and he's an awesome shark fishman and has the 8 tattooed to his neck near the gills:

[Keep in mind, these are Marco's favorite people in the world and yet this is how he describes them. Remember that next time you wonder what he thinks of you.]
The other 8 will have to come later because I have to go hunting.

And he'd probably find gagging kinky.

Okay, definitely avoiding that one. Has he got a ... useful hobby or something? Like I don't know... whittling? Or making furniture like Sweden does?
no subject
[Yeah hetalia has no bias against Korea at all sobs forever]

Maybe I can get him to try to recreate or steal some things that are here. He can call them his own -- here, no one will give a fuck.
[Yeah, normally I call the "oh Hetalia is racist!" overreactions, except with Korea. It's still sadly funny though >>]

[Oh fucking politics. Marco is not a fan.]
no subject
It may be best to avoid.

How annoying... I finally have something good to say for the World Government.
no subject
Ahah, but it is no worry. Korea-san will listen to Marco-san's words a bit more... Maybe.
no subject
.....
In other words you mean no, and you think it's impossible. Thanks for the high hopes mate.
no subject
I apologize for forcing him on Marco-san in such a way. I truly appreciate it, and I will be sure to make it up to you.
no subject
Hah, no, it's all right. I shouldn't give you such a hard time. I agreed to look after him, nothing need more be done. [Although he'll keep fishing for techniques.] If you want to make it up to me, just don't get in any more trouble, eh? I'd have a heart attack trying to look after him and worry about you at the same time -- if it weren't impossible for me.
no subject
...With how things are, I am not sure if I can promise that.
no subject
Okay. If you think you're going to run into trouble, call me. Careful what fights you pick, eh.
[So much double standard here.]
[Locked; 80%]
I can say that whatever conflict comes next... Is the result of what I have already chosen.
...I will call Marco-san if I need help, but I will ask that he not fight my battles. [Basically he's saying if he's like dying from America's attacks or whatever the heck's gonna happen... He doesn't want Marco to go after America.]
[Locked; 80%]
If you are going to make such a request as that, I'm going to need it to be a lot more direct.
And in any event, if you get hurt, do you really think I will be able to hold back Ace's rage?
[Locked; 80%]
Knowing that I have brought this on myself... I ask that you try.
[Locked; 80%]
Tell me how that makes this different.
[Locked; 80%]
[He doesn't say anything, but he looks worried.]

[he frowns and looks down at something off screen.]
It seems... [his eyes lower a bit] I am not made for war.
[It sounds like an echo the way he says that. But he quickly blinks and looks back to Marco with a sturdier expression.]
I will do my best to avoid conflict. There is that.
[Locked; 80%]
Is that your own assessment of the situation?
[Locked; 80%]
...
It was a mistake to attack America-san. [That much was his own. ...He didn't answer the question, though.]
[Locked; 80%]
[Closes his eyes.] I've attacked someone and later taken issue with it; realized I went too far. I've even given a free shot for them to take on me -- and given the reputation I have in my world that's no small thing.
[Opens back up to focus directly on Japan.] But if they can't handle it without getting too extreme themselves, my incentive to simply lie over and accept whatever comes rapidly diminishes.
You can't change the past, you can learn from it, and you can try to make up for it. Simply letting anything happen to you just because America is angry, is not going to make up for it or solve it.
If America gets drastic simply for the sake of it, I have no reason not to do likewise.
