His home is quite far from mine. Ah, and the times I visit Turkey-san or Greece-san, they end up finding me with the other and arguing... I am not sure how this happens.

Maybe because Turkey is an as-- someone who easily irritates everyone around him by somehow managing to be more obnoxious than America?

[So long as Japan kept doing things like that, it always reassured Marco that the man saw through him enough, and cared enough to come soothe his troubles. With that, he knew he could get through anything, lack of nakama or not.]

I do not understand. Does Marco not wish for me to have friends? I cannot enjoy company if it is upsetting to Marco...

And he would not, under any conditions, begrudge him of them. He shivers and sheds some sparks on Japan's lap before switching back to a human next to him, now that he's had a chance to work out his thoughts.]

I'm not... You can have all the friends you wish, truly Japan. [Except Blackbeard, or Kaidou. But he's certain he doesn't need to say that anymore than Marco would be in danger of befriending Russia, which is to say: Never gonna happen.]

Is it not enough that I am trying to be civil? Do I need to be their friends as well?

There aren't many things I get "morally righteous" about, but hatred of an entire species... Whatever his reasons, I cannot accept it. Nor slavery, nor someone insisting anyone should be held accountable for the actions of any person who wasn't themselves. Those three things I cannot forgive. [Also insulting or hurting his nakama, but again, he assumes that goes without saying and that Japan already knows it beyond needing to be ever explicitly stated as such.] Do you think he's just not serious about vampires? Flonne and the others here haven't done anything to him!

History isn't enough. The vampires here have done nothing to him. I don't trust law enforcement for all the shit they've done in my world and to my family, but I don't take it out on the watch here or anyone who was involved in that in their worlds.

Bad things. Doesn't mean I'd kill them all just for Akainu. I'd kill Akainu. I made this tattoo the epitome of vengeance, but the first rule of that is that we go after those who fucked up. Not anyone else. That's why I hate marines! They go after family members or casual acquaintances. I won't be like that.

And when did you decide that being something other than human meant they should all be destroyed? I've spent as long as I've known my Pops fighting people who think they have the right to enslave fishmen and mermaids just because they're another species. I don't care how threatened those humans felt, it's not enough. Giants, okama, trolls? [Pokes Japan's forehead.] Somehow I don't think sleeping with one and inviting others to you door for sandwiches counts in the same way matey.

Marco is connecting it wrong. [He's not usually so blunt, but really!]

It is because they are a threat. Perhaps Marco can see they are not, but that is how Turkey-san is thinking, and considering history I believe he has a reason. ...When I have considered others to be threats simply by ideas and no proof, I have attacked first, in the past.

That is simply what fear will do.

Everyone's a threat.

They also have the potential for more if you let them. Until you know which way they'll go, backing them into a corner only turns them into a threat.

[That hand on Marco's arm slides down to hold his hand.]

Marco must have had to learn that somehow. I did, as well. So perhaps he should give Turkey-san the chance to. ...I will try my best to speak with him, but speaking is all we need.

And I'm serious, Bushido. If he hurts Flonne or one of the others just because they're a vampire, I will kill him. Because that makes him the only danger. Not them.
