That sword has always been something I have used to push myself forward and cut through the crowds. Perhaps there were times I used it in defense, but for the most part... my "self-defense" was to attack first, wasn't it? [He sighs.]

Holding it now, all I can feel are the numbers of those I have hurt. And while that is a burden I should carry forever, it is one I should carry with my heart alone.

I would like it if fights could be avoided. If things could be settled through words... I am realistic, of course. I can still defend myself. But it will be purely that, and through different motions than what I have done in the past.

Perhaps I can make a wooden sword later...

[Blinks and then nods and pets his head. Marco can't pretend he understands pacifism, but he remembers how Japan used to be and it helps sync up to the actions and words now.]

No sparring either then?

I can still train, but I will have to think on sparring. I am not used to having to face these things.

It isn't. Just curiosity. I find it hard to really fight you, eh. I can't bring myself to risk hurting someone I love. Even with Ace, I only act as a wall he can lash out at.

I will do my best to prevent such a thing. But Marco must also realize that I would rather be hurt than give up on my way of bushido. I have not lost it. It has simply become more clear to me. And I will continue with it even if the rest of the world refuses to understand.

[Starts off hesitant and then breaks into a broad grin.]

[Those words are so warm, he just leans into Marco and stays there. He wants to just stay there. Pause everything and stay with Marco. So much catching up to do, but he knows they'll go about as usual and connect even stronger than before.

But... this sort of comfort is something nice that he's only been able to find with Marco.

[Even being carried like this in a completely ruined moment, Japan is just finding Marco completely amazing. He'll just speak softly, leaning his head against him.]
