[Action / Accidental Video] In which baby phoenixes flail a lot
[Early Monday morning Marco is finally returned from his kidnapping. A lot tinier.]
[He wakes up by kicking his book open and there's a teeny tiny baby bluebird phoenix cocking an eye at the pages. Hello Luceti. Finally he decides it's just a blank journal so he hops back and goes to take in his surroundings, and checks the area around the fountain very carefully. Wet. Do not want. Well, he's bored now. Time to fly home.]
[That would work a lot better without this creepy added weight. What the hell! NO! HE CAN'T FLY?! So after several jumps, the hand-sized phoenix jumps about and tries to get air. Which much to his dismay, does nothing. With the added new weight of the fake Luceti wings, he can't fly! Eventually he just gives up and starts flailing.]
Pops! Pops! Pops! [There are a few more baby birdie chirps of this.] Uwah brothers! ANYONE! Where are you guys?!
[Walks around and looks distraught.] I must'a hurt my wings. But that makes no sense... because I'm a phoenix. [Sits back down and sulks for now. Oh, look a stranger! He starts to rush to hide behind the fountain, but well, he's not getting anywhere on his own... so he'll have to try something!]
Excuse me! Have you seen anyone really really tall around? Wait. No. What island is this? I don't remember docking? AH! Have you see Edward Newgate; my Pops around? It's really important, yoi! [At which point... he remembers he's a bird. And realizes nothing he said probably came out in human (it all did because lulz Luceti) so just have a deapan baby birdie stare.]

That was a joke. [Just in case he thought she was serious]
I'm not a duck!! [Flails his feet and wings again, trying to fly, but whatever, he will just... flail.]
Oh. Now I want gwrapes. [Purposeful mispronunciation. Easier now that he's smaller.]
[Super proudly, but clearly still amused.]
Do you know any talking ducks? [Holds a wing over his beak as though shocked by a revelation.] Or are you a bird whisperer?
[He already thinks she is. Or that the book does it for her.]
[And she whistles the sweet one that he taught her. Something that meant: I'm a lady, it will take more than that to impress me]
I didn't impress you...
[Not that he even knows her. But hey he will totally find a way...]
What does impress you?
Ah... but that is cheating.
[Feathery wing tips to his chin in thought.] Although I am a pirate. But it will not be impressive if I have to ask.
[Inspired, he swishes his tail back and forth.] Do you know about the phoenix constellation?
At any rate, the legend behind the constellation revolves around a young couple, tragically separated by an evil priest, the man in the East Blue, the lady in the west and it details their arduous journey back to the homeland, using the light of the constellation to guide their way to the middle star of the phoenix, also known as the heart star and used by sailors for many centuries to find true north.
Though, of course the true implications of the heart star would be different if you consider that Alabasta is on the Grand Line where such things don't matter, and I believe there it carries the connotation that home is where both parties can meet after a long journey.
[In short, little bird, you'll have to do a lot more to impress her]
Ah....
You must be an oracle. You know everything!!
[Thinks this over a lot more.] Oh no! I was going to impress you but you impressed me instead! [Birdie flails. And then dramatically turns HUMAN! SHOCKS ALL AROUND. Except probably not for Miss Oracle here. Still he dramatically points at the book.]
I consider this a personal challenge! I will stump you Miss Oracle!
What is your home island?
You don't ask an oracle something without giving something in return, little bird.
[She rests her chin on her laced fingers and watches him]
But what can I tell you you don't know?
OKAY! I know! We will play a game! I will win and you'll have to answer, right?
Or would you like to ask me questions in return? Is that how you learned everything? I will try that too... and learn more than you. [Do you feel that gauntlet Robin? It's a challenge. LEARN ALL THE THINGS!]
Tell me of your home island. Where did you grow up? When did you happen to join the Whitebeard Pirates?
[She will ask...most of the things. Since she's not interested in taking advantage of you--too much.]
Which sounded dumb at the time. But it was cool. And now I am glad he did.
Your turn! 3 questions! What is your home island, what crew are you with, and what is your name?
[He never mentioned how she should answer them and he wonders if he can figure it out. She waits until he is in bird mode for more than two seconds before blossoming a hand from the well to tug gently on his tail feathers and he might see it before it dissolves into blossoms if he's quick]
How old are you? What is your favorite food? Your favorite legend?
Straw Hat is not an island, and it would be a lame nickname for Wano, that must be the crew! Or bounty name like how Pops is Whitebeard? Ah but I would know of a Robin Island and I think Ohara is the big tree island in West Blue! I've heard it's very nice, right? So you must be Robin! [Human, but his tail comes out and swishes happily before he realizes and remembers the tug and stops that. No need to tempt demons.] I like that name. It is very beautiful, eh.
[More head tilts and thought.]
I am 10,414! [Years. Centuries. Days. Weeks. Hours. Something.] My favorite food is.... [Think think think think.] Well, I like fish. And fruit! And tasty things. I am not picky I guess. Banana and french fries sandwiches! But do not tell my brothers. They will be stupid about it.
My favorite legend is Moby Dick! And fairies that make people fly and heal by clapping! And the one that says someday people will fly between the stars, just like fireflies, eh! Or the one about the end of rainbows. I don't know how to chase refracted light but I want to learn. Hum~ But Moby Dick is my favorite! He was the bestest whale. I told Pops our ship should be made like that! And then we can get revenge on all the things that earn it.
What is this place? What is your favorite food? And what is your favorite legend or constellation?
If you catch a rainbow, let me know, ne? It reminds me of a song I saw in a book once. [Pity she doesn't know the tune.
As for the rest of it, she is impressed that he figured it out and how. He knows so much of the world even as a small thing. What else does he know? Who else does he know? She wants to pry it out of him one secret at a time.]
I like well-made food, but I don't have a particular favorite. So long as it's light and fresh. My favorite constellation is the tortoise.
This is Luceti, as I said. It's not an island so much as--somewhere else. Another place entirely where time has little meaning. Those who are dead in other worlds are alive in this one and there are many people from many worlds gathered here.
The ones that bought us here are scientists called Malnosso who attached those wings to you in order to keep you controlled. They can do many things, from changing your age, your gender, even your species if they will it and so far there's nothing anyone can do to stop them.
Light and fresh hm... [Wiggles in lieu of tail swishes. He's still on the lookout for hands! Or cats. He thinks it's a cat. Cats are such pains like that. He is not their toy, yoi!]
Dead people from other worlds come here? THAT IS REALLY COOL! And I made it here? I must have trained my phoenix powers very hard, eh!
My wings are real, yoi. [Looks at his back for the first time REALLY thinking about it and seeing it as a human. AND YELLS.] AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY DID THIS SO I WON'T FLY AWAY?!?! I WILL KICK THEM IN THE FACE! [Thinks about it.] No, for this I'll even kick them in the nuts. And I never kick anyone there.
Do not worry Robin, I am stronger than I look. I am Pops' son so I must learn to be as strong as Moby Dick! I will stop them. So do not be sad Oracle. For now let's keep playing though. So that I can lure them out. [Nod.] Unless I am boring you.
Re: [Video]
I'm not bored, little bird. And I know the lyrics, but not the tune. [Though it was written out but she can't read music. Not yet, at any rate]
[She'll speak these words, almost as if she's reading poetry]
I know this song! Actually I was hoping you meant this one!!
[Sings it for her! Oh, he is so excited, SEE? He stumped you Oracle!]
That's beautiful....
Can I steal you and make you my songbird? [But she's teasing, of course]
I always kick Ray when he says that.
But you can ask my Papa.
[Stops hiding in wings.] He'd probably try to steal you to be a nurse! Because you know everything! And you'd probably look good in leopard print stockings. [This is sort of a compliment, but he says it more like questioning fact than actual statement of such, more like "And I think Pops would say..." Also yes, those are obviously the requirements to be Pops' nurse. Know things, look good in leopard print stockings. You're good to go.]
Do you want me to sing you another song, eh?
You give your songs away so freely? [but since she does want to hear] I'd like to hear...
[Sits down cross-legged.] It's more embarrassing than anything else, but if you want to pay me back for a song you can tell me more about the Tortoise constellation!
What song would you like?

One rainy afternoon,
A yellow bird nests is Grandpa's tree!
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I'm sitting by the window pane,
Thinking of you in the lazy sky,
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
Do you remember a summer's day?
Trees were swaying with new life!
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
Time flies like an arrow,
I suddenly feel left alone.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
Wrapped in a warm spring sunlight.
The yellow bird laid new life.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
Time flies in the navy sky,
Exciting chatter of baby birds!
I have stories to tell you tonight.
I have stories to tell you tonight.
[He might have stories to tell you tonight Robin. Quick make him promise.]
Will you tell me stories tonight? [And every night. Though she doesn't say this even though it sits on the end of her tongue]
