fierybluebird | [Action / Accidental Video] In which baby phoenixes flail a lot

[Early Monday morning Marco is finally returned from his kidnapping. A lot tinier.]

[He wakes up by kicking his book open and there's a teeny tiny baby bluebird phoenix cocking an eye at the pages. Hello Luceti. Finally he decides it's just a blank journal so he hops back and goes to take in his surroundings, and checks the area around the fountain very carefully. Wet. Do not want. Well, he's bored now. Time to fly home.]

[That would work a lot better without this creepy added weight. What the hell! NO! HE CAN'T FLY?! So after several jumps, the hand-sized phoenix jumps about and tries to get air. Which much to his dismay, does nothing. With the added new weight of the fake Luceti wings, he can't fly! Eventually he just gives up and starts flailing.]

Pops! Pops! Pops! [There are a few more baby birdie chirps of this.] Uwah brothers! ANYONE! Where are you guys?!

[Walks around and looks distraught.] I must'a hurt my wings. But that makes no sense... because I'm a phoenix. [Sits back down and sulks for now. Oh, look a stranger! He starts to rush to hide behind the fountain, but well, he's not getting anywhere on his own... so he'll have to try something!]

Excuse me! Have you seen anyone really really tall around? Wait. No. What island is this? I don't remember docking? AH! Have you see Edward Newgate; my Pops around? It's really important, yoi! [At which point... he remembers he's a bird. And realizes nothing he said probably came out in human (it all did because lulz Luceti) so just have a deapan baby birdie stare.]

[Good lord, he's way too cute like this. Way too cute. Norma grins, giggling quietly to herself, petting his feathery head with a few fingers. Norma also tickles under his chin a little bit, too, before thinking about his question. Ace would obviously be the best candidate to take care of the little guy, but was he even home? Norma hasn't seen him around much lately, considering how busy it's been around Luceti.

Still, worth a try. And there was also that one spot...]

Well, that really depends. What's your pops and brothers look like? I can't really say I have unless I know that, right? They all fluff and feathers too, Turtledove?

[Small gasp and covers his beak with wings.] Oh but that is secret, yoi.

Papa is really really really big! He has a huge white and red jacket with tassels, and a tattoo of the flag on his back! And he has a big white moon on his face! Jozu is big and diamond and tough and heavy! And Vista has a curly villain mustache and top hat! And likes flowers.

[Ffff, oh my god, Marco is too cute for words when he's little. Norma smothers her giggles, though a few escape here and there. Too cute, too cute, can she just take him home with her for a day? Ah...no. Not yet. Norma can kidnap him later. Payback and all that.]

Huh...I don't think I've seen much of those other guys, but I think I may've seen your old man around here. I'll take you to where I last got a good look, how's that sound?

[Omg Norma you are going to make him cry if you tell him his Pops is here and it's just the memorial. Cry buckets.]

[Lights up. Seriously. Do you want to break the heart of this face?]

[Alas, Norma is neither that wise nor does she have that level of foresight, though she does have enough tact not to say the old man is dead and gone. Not to a kid and never to someone she cares about. In fact, Norma thinks her plan will cheer the little guy up, and immediately sets out for the direction of the community housing building the memorial is located ontop of.]

Yeah! Or...well, something that should definitely remind you of him.

[Attempts to curl up on her shoulder as a bitty bird.]

[Oh, you cheater. Norma frowns, then pouts, but she doesn't stop walking. It hopefully shouldn't take too long to get there from where she is now. Norma's at least walking at a brisk pace.]

[Laughs a little.]

Hah sorry... I couldn't think what else it would be.

Well...yeah, it's his flag. Or, well, given your description I'm pretty sure it is. I haven't seen any other flags around here either, so there's that.

[In about twenty or so minutes, Norma's at the community building where marco and Ace live as well as where the flag still stand, waving in the light breeze that passes every now and there. It's pretty high up from where they are on the ground, and Norma can barely see the finer details, but she points up there regardless.]

See? Waaaay up there! We can go get a closer look, if you want.

We have the only flag here? [Definite note of pride to his voice and he nods.] Yes please!

It's the only one I've seen, at least.

[Though Norma hasn't exactly been looking around for other flags or has gone around Luceti much more than her usual hang-out spots, but Marco doesn't have to know that. Instead, she just nods and heads inside the building and into the elevator, heading for the roof. And, once they get out, Norma pushes open the door aaand--]

Ta-daaaah~! We arrive!

Yay!

[Runs over and sits next to the flag and bottles and peers at them.]

That's a lot of bottles. [Said so seriously.]

Yeah, I know, I like to drink.

[Norma, your pokerface kinda stinks. She's grinning and laughing softly as she heads to the flagpole a lot slower than the little kid, looks up at it with a smile on her face. Mm...Norma's really glad it managed to stay up during the storm she heard about, she was worried about it for a while.]

[Laughs!] You liar! Even Pops would have to take a while to drink that much!

[That laughter is contagious, and Norma grins and shifts her weight on her heels.]

Me? Lie? Oh, never! I am the most honest and sincere person you'll ever meet!

Nuh-uh! You should meet Vista. He's a terrible liar.

[Wasn't that the one with...hm, which was it? Marco's talked so much about his brothers, so... Wait, it was the one that was like a villain with a crazy mustache. The one who ties people to railroads tracks? Norma has to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing, turning her squeaky chortle into a soft cough.]

One of your friends or something?

My brother! He has a top hat and wants to be super posh! [Swishes his tail back and forth happily.]

[SNERK. Yep, that was the one she was thinking of! She remembers Marco saying he was posh.]

You sure have a crazy family, Turtledove. Anyone else I should keep an eye out for? [If he mentions Ace, Norma can take him directly home. Though who knows if Marco's so young that from his time frame Ace may not have even been born yet.]

[Ace has definitely not been born by this time. Rogers is still a goober and the idea that Roger could have a kid would be lost on Marco utterly. Also, VERY BELATEDLY:]

Not many, I only heard stories from a weird old man who used to be here. [GRIN. That's probably going to bite her in the behind one day, but it's worth it.] There was...a, uh, I think something about diamonds? Oh! And I think there's one that looks like me - a girl, I guess. Oh, and a fire-spitting idiot with a cowboy hat.

[She eye Marco after that, waiting for a response.]
