17 - [Text] Little known fact, pirates play hangman as a lesson to play smart or get hung
Hey Japan, if you're getting this... How about a game of hangman, okay?
And anyone else can play too, though I'll get you different puzzles.

For anyone else, how's this for starters:

The more I hear more about people that are supposed to be the "good guys", the more I want to throw my lot in with the other side.
[That is not even a lie.]
Sometimes I don't know if I even have the right kind of focus to hate people.
I hate Blackbeard. And Akainu.
[Shrugs.] That's assuming that word can cover the extent for which it's supposed to mean. Personally I think it can't, so on a different level are the other marines, whom I hold intense contempt and dislike of their stupidity for, but the inclination to hunt them down in dark alleys and break their necks isn't there.
[... Marco is not a nice guy. Do you get that impression Kaitou? Are you SURE you'd want to throw your lot in with him?]
...you should hate the guy who killed your father, shouldn't you?
[ooc: and once again I lament now having a single icon of Marco just totally full of seething dark hatred. /sigh]
[Not the same as his own situation. Snake still thinks that Kaito is his dad, after all. His expression flickers for a moment before turning casually sweet.]
Do you know what the term "Kaitou" means in Japan?
[He's a pirate with an alcoholic father.]
[The video moves for a moment as he draws something out on a scrap of paper and hold it up to be seen:] 怪盗
[Video]
They're a dying breed, really. There's not too many people willing to dedicate their life to developing the skills. And if they do, there's usually something that they're after and once they've found it...
[A shrug.]
They're called Phantom Thieves because they're impossible to catch. Like a phantom. They're already gone before you even notice that they were even there.
But there's one back home who chooses to make a spectacle of his crimes. A show that everyone is invited to come watch. A show that he issues invitations to the police and to the public, like a little stamped ticket with the time and the place written in red ink. He chooses to steal things right in front of your eyes.
Yet for twenty years now, he's still being referred to as a phantom thief. Why do you think that is?
[Video] [locked 30%]
All right, so why does he do it? To show the police their ineptitude?
[Video] [locked 50%]
No. He likes the police. ... most of them, anyway.
Particularly the special force assigned to try and catch him. And the old man who always tracks down more outlandish and beautiful trinkets to tempt the thief with because he likes the challenge.
He leaves them gifts sometimes. Helped the police catch more than one murderer.

You remember what I told you about color symbolism before, don't you?

Kaitou KID has been known to the public for twenty years now. But there were eight years in the middle of all that where he was just... gone.
[Video] [locked 50%]
Was it his father you think that did it previously?

Oh.
You mean like it's a ghost? Hm. Nope, don't buy it. But if that's his story I hope he has the kind of audience that does, eh?
[Video] [locked 50%]
And do you want to know something else? He never keeps anything he steals.
[Video] [locked 50%]
What do you think it is?
[Video] [locked 50%]
But then again, maybe the police are all too busy watching the wrong show.
