[In a scene that might be familiar to some, Marco is back in the barn, with five baby chocobo. Not quite so baby now, he might be able to fit one of them in a bag on his back, but not all of them. He can't even fit them all under one wing, but that's all right, the others he's dealing with in different ways. It might not be immediately obvious, but the loss of Ace is hitting him hard. Normally he'd go into a rage to kill things, but he doesn't seem to feel it's worth it.]

Ace's name is up on the memorial wall. He might come back... I hope so.

[There's a much too long pause in which he looks a world away and scoops up a chocobo fitted with a Spade collar.]

Ah so how about some bird jokes, eh?

You've probably all heard this one: Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the other side.
Why didn't the turkey cross the road?
He didn't want to be a chicken.
Why did the ducks cross the road?
To prove they could do it better than the chicken.

It was a double-crosser.

A phoenix walks into a bar filled with a bunch of turkeys. He gives them a polite nod and then buys everyone a round of drinks. They crowd around their new friend and offer some peanuts. "Gobble gobble gobble?" they suggest. "No thanks," he politely declines, "I'm allergic." They offer him pretzels. "Gobble gobble gobble?" He takes a few of those and they continue on for hours. Eventually they run out, and just as he was about to leave, they look him up and down and ask, "Gobble gobble gobble?" He gives them a horrified look and explains, "No way! I'm not into that!"

Why did the marines arrest the turkey?
They brought it on suspicion of fowl play!

[The warning is heard, but of course he's going to finish it all the way. Even that usual nagging feeling that would be there in the back of his mind about this sort of thing is gone with the way he'd been so tempted.

Once Marco does come, he'll pull away with still flushed cheeks, making a light show of it to swallow before sighing quietly and looking to Marco.]

[Marco for what it's worth... is speechless. He just blushes... and beams... and pats Japan's head as reassuringly as possible. It's a little while before he gets his thoughts together and before even straightening, he just makes a blue fiery heard for Japan. Love you. It goes unvoiced, but the sentiment is obviously there.]

[He blushes a bit and wipes at the corners of his mouth to make sure nothing's left. Really, he hasn't quite calmed down from that at all. That picture of Marco just enjoying himself, no control...]

I am glad... Marco enjoyed it.

So much. Come here. I need to kiss you. [To steal a taste of it and in reward. so he tugs Japan CAREFULLY onto his lap and kisses him hard.] Love you. [Just in case Japan hadn't heard the first 150 times...]

[To answer back to that this time he's just going to lean into Marco a little more and kiss right back. Yup..........]

[Hums his delight and strokes a hand down Japan's spine. Good Bushido ^_^]

after a moment of kissing, he's still leaning into Marco but he pulls away from the kiss to rest his head on his shoulder]

I believe Marco said he wouldn't stop me from more salt now.

Aye. But don't you dare die on me matey.

[KISSES AGAIN. He's horrible. So horrible.] So was the taste worth it? [Shimmies back into his pants now to get Japan his salt... yup.]

[Kiss... and once Marco moves back to his pants, Japan sort of flops on the couch. Aiyaaa he's so old and tired.]

Yes... ah, I mean, Marco's reactions were...

[Lmao oh Japan. Too cute.]

Hah... really? [Amused and kisses his nose before finishing the belt and stretching.] Damn I feel good. I'm sure I wasn't as interesting as you though, eh?

[He sits back up and then stands to take Marco's face and pull him in for yet another kiss.]

I assure Marco he was very... interesting. [As if that word interesting would be something more blunt but he can't bring himself to say it. And then he sits down slowly.]

[Shivers at the kiss and chirps in surprise... just watching Japan as he goes back down.]

T-the whole point of word substitution was to avoid such a blunt statement!

[Laughs happily and nuzzles their noses together before getting up to fetch that salt.] My apologies. Interesting it is then. [Goes to get!]

[Wahh... He watches him go before leaning back again. Yup. Salt salt salt]

[Returns, and literally just presents a salt shaker on a plate lmao.]

Would you like something to go with this? It'll take me a little while to get fresh fish, but we should have some other supplies here that Luffy doesn't know about.

[B| face. But he takes that salt shaker and undoes the top YEAH. WHAT OF IT.]

Can salt cause strokes? I thought strokes were low blood pressure, not high.

Low or high, a change in blood pressure can be damaging to the heart. But as a true Japanese man, such things cannot effect me! [Liar. Also staring at that finger.]

[Stares at. And then moves the finger into the points of a cross... and then a crescent. Yup, that's how he does eye tests. What do you mean that's obsessive?]

[Staring staring augh no his eyes hurt what are you doing. Gives up near the end to pour some salt into his hand and then... pop it into his mouth. Yup.]
