Yo. I'm back. Longest month of my life, including that time I dyed my hair black.

Did anyone remember to water and feed Ace while I was gone? Take him for walks and make sure he got sun and all that?

[There's a pause and the fluttering of wings along with a mutter.] Damn this new book system is strange... [But he speaks back up again trying to sound more chipper.]

So what did I miss? Did the entire landscape change? Any new books about pirates at the library, eh?

[For those who know him well, Marco actually sounds pretty exhausted for a change, and lacking some of his usual ridiculousness.]

[Ace? That's a very familiar name, oh yes. Must be one of Hothead's friends...and a fun one to boot. Norma snickers quietly into her journal, debating on how to properly answer this. She's been, uh...kind of hiding in her bed all day after that lovelove curse thing wore off. Yeah, from now on, she's going to listen to all the warnings and crap about this experiment.

BUT AVOIDANCE AND DISTRACTION IS THE BEST REMEDY. That, and picking on her pirate buddy; yoho and all that junk.]

Oh, you mean Hothead? Well, I watered him... [By taking him out to the ocean and hitting him with beach balls and the like. She is a great friend.] And I guess I fed him...

[Those funny fruits...]

Now you've got me a little worried, eh. [Casual, but hello, extremely overprotective brother trying to figure out why the evasiveness of all that.]

Huh? Oh, no! He was okay when I saw him! Looked kinda exhausted, but Hothead was still able to laugh and smile and have fun, and throw me into the ocean... so that's not too bad, right? [Though she may play 20 Questions with Ace if you don't do so before her, Marco.] It's just been a...real crazy couple of days.

[I ~~may have~~ kissed a girl, and I liked it.]

Uuurghh... I-I mean--who're you, anyway? You seem to know Hothead pretty well.

[Laughs.] Good. I'm relieved. Freckles did that? What did you do to instigate it? He's usually so polite. I assume it was playing around of some kind?

[No worries there seems to be lots of that going around.]

I'm Marco. Ace is my nakama, or best friend if you prefer.

[Polite? Pfff--oh, she is going to hammer his thick head into the pavement the next time she sees him. That idiot is nothing short of a huge jerk to her on most occasions. Hn...Ace...]

I just threw a beach ball at him, jeez! [No big.] And splashed him with some ocean water a bit. It was all in good fun, but then he threw me in. ...That dunderhead. I should've pulled him in with me.

[She crosses her arms and pouts, going so far as to puff out her lower lip. Oooh, she really should have pulled him in, or pushed him under or something. That big idiot. ...Even if it was fun.]

Oh! Right! I'm Norma - Norma Beatty - another one of Hothead's friends...if you couldn't tell already.

I'd rather you'd didn't drag him in. I'm not sure if he told you, but he'd drown. It'd put out Hothead's fire and all that.

Nice to meet you Norma. Been in Luceti long?

[For the first half of that, Norma just grins, then disappears from the journal's camera, searching her room for something. When she comes back, it's with a set of big, fat, colorful markers. And she'll start drawing as she talks.]

Yeah, he's told me about that. We didn't go in too far anyway, just up to our knees, promise! Besides, I wouldn't let that idiot drown, what kinda friend would I be, huh? You've got nothing to worry about.

[Laughs.]

Keep those markers handy, eh? I wouldn't want to give away the surprise, but you never know when you might want to use them on him.

[And somewhere in Luceti, Ace sneezed.]

... why do I feel like someone's talking about me?

Same here! And uuh...about six months, I think? Maybe more. I haven't exactly been keeping track.

How'd you meet Ace anyway?

[She laughs as well, the devilish grin she wears afterward showcasing that Norma had that exact same idea in her head. Ace isn't safe the next time his narcolepsy decides to kick in. She'll save a nice, colorful red one for you, pirate bro. ♥

As for that question...oh jeez. Norma will never forget the day she first met Ace. Her nervous chuckle and how she seems to hide her face a little dictates this will one of those stories. Have your popcorn ready, Marco.]

Well, I uh...I kidnapped him. [She hold up her hand, before he can flip at her.] An experiment turned me into a dragon - or well...i dressed up like a dragon and was stealing treasure, fighting knights, and kidnapping princesses. Hothead was that princess. Ugliest one I've ever seen, let me tell you! [She laughs again.]

But pretty soon after he kidnapped me in another experiment thing, so I guess we're kinda even.

Oh, hey I remember that. [Not the kidnapping, but the event.] I spent that week as a "steed" so... yeah.

What did he kidnap you for?

[A steed? Really, Malno-nos? ...REALLY? Norma peers down at Marco's image in her journal and her ~~overactive~~ imagination fills in the rest fairly quickly. She snorts, and smothers her laughter with her hands, before it gets too loud. Oh sweet mother of the merines, that image along could bring her to tears. Alas, she was not around to witness that glorious moment...or get a ride.

Also, please give her a minute to compose herself.]

Uuuh...heck if I know! [She throws up her hands.] It was forever ago, and I'm pretty sure I fell asleep at some point. ...Ooooh! Now I remember! That idiot burned my clothes at that time! I tried to punch his face in and he singed my clothes!

[It's okay, Marco found it relatively amusing while it was happening.]

He tends to do that, eh.

[It was a pretty fun experiment, and a hilarious experience. Norma even still has her adorable dragon costume stuffed away all neat in her closet.]

Jeez, how can you stand it?

[She loves him, really. Really.]

[Laughs.]

Are you kidding? I love it. I wouldn't change a hair on his fiery head.

[D'aaw, Marco. Norma smiles a kind of fond, goofy smile and lets loose a quiet, airy chuckle. That's...true. As stupid, jerkish, and troublesome as Ace was sometimes, she'd never change a thing about him.]

Well...I guess I can agree with that a little bit. Hothead sure comes in handy in this gross weather for sure!

[And then you wonder why Marco ships Norma with Ace now....]

That's just his devil fruit. There's a lot to him.

That right? How about you let me in on a few juicy secrets then, hm? Pretty, pretty pleaaase?

[Oh, Norma knows there's more to Ace. He's sweet, kind, and caring - but he's also stubborn, sassy, and bullheaded. That's probably why Norma liked him so much - so many points in his personality reminded her own people back home, yet he was still that one unique individual she cared so much about. Why else would she go to such lengths to track him down that one time? The idiot...

They had a lot of fun yesterday, though. Norma's glad for it. Fruit or not, spending time with one of her best friends - someone almost like family - is a great thing. One of the only good things that came of this week. ...That is, if Marco doesn't share some sleaze on his bestie. Ohoho~]

Oh god I can't... he'd kill me.

Ask him about April Fools' on the Moby Dick though. It might get the kind of reaction you're hoping for.

And you can call him Freckles. He hates that.

[Norma groans in disappointment at first, ready to spit out a quick "party pooper" at her journal as a scowl takes shape on her face. But, wait a sec, what's this? April what-now? Eh, whatever, that's good enough! Not what she had been hoping for, but it's a decent enough stepping stone in teasing the hell out of Ace later down the line.]

Oooh...sounds good! I'll be sure to ask him all about that when I see him next! [Tee hee. ♥] As for that other bit...I guess I could use it to poke fun of him. But Hothead's already got a nickname, so I can't use it too much. It might stick. [And she does not steal nicknames from others. B| That is not the way she does business.]

Man, I really owe you one now.

Nah... it's nothing. [Waves a hand.] Call it a freebie in gratitude for you looking out after him before, eh?

[A-Aww...that kinda makes Norma blush a little bit. That, and giggle stupidly as she leans her head on one hand. Jeez, he doesn't have to make it sound like she did anything really special! Any friend would do the same thing, wouldn't they?]

He needs a lot of looking after, but don't mention it. [...] You said your name was, uh...Marco, right? [Not much to work with there...Norma's gonna have to think hard for a good nickname.] What about you, huh? Are you a superman or something, too?
