11 - AU!Disc [Audio] In which pineapples are plentiful
Has anyone seen my Ace of Spades?
Linda apparently can't find it. She's good at finding other stuff though, but not Rika's crystals. Which is a shame, I was going to hang them up in the windows. Might liven up all the black. [In the background there's the sound of a woman tsking him and reminding him that he gets to decorate the office, not the apartment, so he should suck up and deal because black is the in-thing.]
Yeah, right, anyway. Got in touch with the Sandwich Factory --
[At this, the transmission is interrupted for a loud THWACK! as something loud was thrown and cracked near the communicator.] NOT YOU LINDA. GOD! PUT THE HEELS DOWN! You're worse than Pops' nurses!
[And a loud woman's voice.] WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?
[And anyone who knows Marco might recognized this silence as Marco's usual deadpan thinking up the right thing to say.] Love you baby? [WELL, apparently that worked because the woman devolves into a bunch of coos and purrs.] Right, I'm just going to take that heel now... before you break things. Haha. Wait. What is that on the plate?
Spam on toast with pineapple! It's your favorite!
That's inedible.
[And that would be the sound of Marco getting slapped and the voice wandering away yelling he can get his own damn food then.]
Right. Okay. Yeah. So uh. I guess anyone who finds this not an ordinary day and has lots of missing stuff, check in. Maybe we can find it together with a giant lost and found or something. Thanks.

So far, Japan, Eridan, Yusei, Denmark, Ange, and Japan said he'd work on finding the others he knows. Which is just as well since I don't know as many people involved as I should.
Still no sign of my Spade.
Eri says he's with his brothers... it doesn't sound good.
[Audio]
[Well now he's kind of upset, that's not cool. Some silence...]
Where are you. I don't wanna talk over this stupid thing.
[Audio]
My... Linda's... our apartment. [Annoyed noise.]
I haven't gotten my bearings around the city without an aerial view. Think you can find "Pineapple Landscaping"? I'm not sure what street it's on.
[Audio]
[He has the phonebook, coupled with a map this can't get any better. Anyways he will be there soon ffff do you want me to tag you in the log or commentlog it?]
[Audio]
[Turns it off and goes back to his obvious, lying to the girlfriend about forgetting some work something or other. As for here or there, whichever is easiest for you.]
[Commentlog because I am super lazy]
[Commentlog because I am super lazy]
Yo. [Opens the door and leads him into a landscaping office with far too many tropical plants for Discedo.]
[Commentlog]
You runnin' some illegal tree business here or somethin'?
[Seriously it's weirding him out.]
[Commentlog]
[Deadpan.] Apparently I "landscape." Which sounds sort of like what happens to islands after a buster call and they're all flattened and destroyed. [Shrugs.]
[Commentlog]
Means you do people's lawns. So what've you found out so far.
Re: [Commentlog]
What's a lawn?
[He's serious. He's lived on oceans his whole life. There's no such thing as lawns to him. Still, he goes through his iPhone-thing to pull up a list of those found so far.]
Still no sign of Denmark's brothers that I know of, including Sweden, no Ace, no Luffy. Got a hold of Anemone, she's working at a restaurant as a waitress. Seems like everyone is in school, a job, or both.
And I'm making a vow here and now to never retire and give up piracy. This whole city is fucked up.
[Commentlog]
Ace is here.
[Brb pulling him up in the phonebook awyeah]
Japan wants to stay at school, some of his friends are there. Anya, Sai'n Zelos I've already gotten ahold of. That ain't even half of everyone we saw in that void though.
[There's a bit of quiet. There's a lot going through his mind right now, missing people only part of it.]
I need to do some things. Can you find as many people as you can and get in touch with'em?
[Commentlog]
Yes, that's most the plan, eh. What are you hoping to do? [Already droopy eyes narrow a bit.]
[Commentlog]
Ask your friend [meaning Linda], she'll help you find it. As for me? I'm gonna find the way out of here.
[He puts his phone away, obviously getting ready to go. The sooner he gets all of this solved the better, maybe it's paranoia, but if life has taught him anything it's that time doesn't wait.]
I've got no plans on dyin' here. Been there already, I don't need a repeat.
[Has it been mentioned Seifer is possibly the most paranoid person you could ever meet? Cause he's definitely up there...]
[Commentlog]
[Waves a hand, Marco's a pirate, paranoia is a big part of their business.]
I'm worried about the trolls. Eridan and the rest. [Shows him the conversation up to the part where Eridan suspiciously disappears.] I don't know if they're being hurt per se, but it screams of slavery.
[Commentlog]
[Very certain there. He's tracked down the scientists enough to be sure of that. But he does look over that conversation before handing Marco his phone back. He could really use Japan right now if Japan weren't busy messing around in school.]
They don't have slavery here. We're humane, the great Discedean Empire bringin' mercy'n civilization to all. Didn't they teach you anything in kindergarten Marco?
[There's a smirk here, but it's the sort of smirk one wears when torturing people. It is not a very nice smirk.]
Read a newspaper. Think I might know some places they could be, I'll give a look around. If any of 'em call back do me a favor'n stop putting the fear of God into 'em.
[It hasn't escaped his notice Marco and Ace have a bad habit of saying too much. There's a difference between helping and causing a panic.]
How're your powers?
[Commentlog]
I'll read the papers though.
[Holds up a hand, trying for the millionth time to conjure his blue flames or turn into a phoenix. Marco has perfect control over his devil fruit. He's one of, if not the, only devil fruit users in the whole of his world who can completely control just exactly how much he wants to transform and where. He can fly. He can kick the ever loving shit out everything and anyone. He has it honed down that he can just conjure up little sparkles if he so chooses, or just the inner flames to keep him safe. And yet.... Nothing. It's just gone. No fiery blue feathers, no flames, no sparkles, he can't even do the most basic transformation and switch into a phoenix. His face might be deadpan, and his arm might be steady, but this is about as freaked out as Marco gets.] Nothing, eh. I don't feel drained like with seastone, there's just... nothing. [He didn't even have all the springtime problems or the ability to discern bird's chatter and talk back. It was just nothing.]
[Commentlog]
[He means everyone. Every single person that was in that void with them. So maybe he's not Captain of the Watch in the old Discedo anymore. More than that maybe he lost the war back home. He doesn't care. He never said this farce was allowable. If he has to tear down the world order here to right this then so be it. Who's going to stop him?]
What weapons do you know how to use.
[Commentlog]
[......] I kick. I don't my need my devil fruit to still break heads and buildings with it. I can do flips just fine without wings. For weapon variety you can check with Ace. I've seen him use just about everything from that mango-knife of his to giant axes bigger than himself. [True story bro.] But I've never used guns or swords. I left it up to Izou or Thatch and Vista.
Where do you think we'd get the weapons?
[Commentlog]
[But he does reach up one sleeve and take out a gun he'd strapped there with a belt. Funny what things you'd find lying around...]
You haven't noticed our good friends the police everywhere? They've been real generous so far.
[He tosses the gun to Marco.]
I've got four more in the car. Give that to someone you think could use it. Me'n Anya'll worry about getting bigger toys.
[Running his fingers over the palm of his right hand though he does look down. Maybe a little hesitant.]
I don't think we're gonna find any gunblades at the local precinct though. You see one around... ... ...grab it for me will ya?
[Commentlog]
[Tuns the weapon around his hands. It's a good thing he never tuned Izou out.] Is it loaded?
Think we could get enough of these for the trolls and anyone else in there with them?
[Commentlog]
[Because it will probs be shooting at Marco. But Seifer's not counting his luck here. Gunblades seem to be a thing of his world for the most part.]
The safety's on. I ain't gettin' guns for anyone who doesn't know how to use'em, it'll only do more harm than good. See if you can't get Karkat'n ask him what weapons the trolls use.
Anything else?
[Commentlog]
I'll ask.
If we're breaking out the trolls we're going to need more than what you can get by killing the random police here or there. Not to mention, you're going to draw a ton of attention like that. Marines don't like it when you flaunt defying them.
[Commentlog]
I haven't killed anyone.
[Seriously after Japan accusing him of being reckless that's the last thing he wants to hear.]
Anya's with me. We'll work somethin' out. If we can't find a military depot one of the precincts around here ain't that bad.
[...Ah pause and then he sighs. He's not sure Marco will know what that is since his only involvement with military seems to be Marines and whatever the World Government is.]
Police headquarters. Between the two of us I think we can take one. If you've got somethin' else in mind though now'd be a good time to say it.
[Commentlog]
Wait until I get Ace to take on the police? I will always approve of dicking with them, but even without his devil fruit, Freckles is something of a genius at arson and mayhem, and I'm sure he'll want to hit them up too.
You planning to just go straight from the precinct to breaking loose the trolls? [Marco knows what police are. They're just the localized versions of law enforcement country to country and thus even less equipped at dealing with pirates.]
